Our authority to provide courses
Our Distance Learning course received the accolade of being awarded the UK’s BPIF “Training Provider” Award winner for providing Training of Excellence. The BPIF has long been recognised as providing the industry-standard in the UK and our receipt of the BPIF Award is recognition that not only did our course meet their requirements but that the course content met the needs of the (UK) printing industry. Our tutor, Michael Paxman has over 30 years teaching experience as a senior lecturer at the London College of Printing (now the London College of Communications) and has been successfully providing our Distance Learning course for over 15 years. He has served on the Moderating Committee of the BPIF, being responsible for the Advanced Litho Estimating and Litho Estimating examinations until their demise and has served on the printing industry’s Training Provider’s committee for some years. Our objective is to further the interests of printers by providing essential theory together with appropriate techniques detailed in manually-produced estimates thus enhancing the knowledge of estimators and allowing the printer to be more competitive. With the contraction of facilities for training estimators either in full- or part-time education (in the UK at least), our course is widely acknowledged by industry as the replacement requiring approximately two hours of study each week. But to succeed in any worthwhile subject, a degree of determination is required.
